Lantum, Locum Shift Improvements

Rota management was generating 15–20 support requests a week, costing Lantum around 21 days of customer service time each year. I led a series of improvements that gave rota managers more control over assigning, moving and editing shifts. The work moved core staffing tasks towards self-service while establishing patterns that could scale across the wider product.

Retrospective Edits

Rotas rarely go to plan. Acuity spikes, staff get moved, hours change after the fact, but managers had no self-serve way to edit a past shift. I designed a safe way to edit shift history retrospectively, with every change logged and reflected in workers' timesheets.

Email Preferences

Healthcare managers were bombarded with notifications, with zero control over what they received. I designed a single place to manage every notification, grouped clearly, with plain-language descriptions of exactly what each toggle controlled.

Drag and Drop

Rota managers needed speed when rebuilding a schedule under pressure. I designed drag-and-drop shift assignment that accounted for every collision: vacant shifts, published shifts, unavailable staff, with deliberate resistance added wherever a change directly affected a clinician.
