OnCare, Scheduling

OnCare's scheduling tool made care coordinators re-create the same weekly visit plan by hand, one visit at a time: up to 21 separate entries for a single client. I redesigned scheduling around automation, so a weekly plan repeats itself until someone says otherwise.

Getting into the room

I sat with agency staff as they worked, recording think-aloud sessions and testing an InVision prototype live. Two empathy maps, for the agency owner and office manager, surfaced very different, equally valid needs.

What patterns emerged

Flexibility to edit a plan after creating it. Control to pause it when a client's needs change. Automation so it repeats without manual re-entry. Every principle traced back to a direct quote from research.

What shipped

A cleaner, lighter scheduling flow with automated weekly repeats, clear allocation states, and room to duplicate visits across days in a couple of taps.
